Freedom From Slavery!

Freedom From Slavery!

Historically, race and ethnicity have been used to distinguish ourselves from others. Although this practice has been outlawed in most countries, there are people who continue to elevate their racial and ethnic groups above others. Sometimes subtly, and sometimes not!

In my home Country of South Africa, this practice took the form of white supremacy over “Black, Colored and Indian” people.

God does not condone discriminatory practices in any way, and neither should we! At the foot of the Cross, we are all equal in God’s Eyes.

Let us keep what the Bible says about race and ethnicity in mind … and conduct ourselves accordingly! The “Golden Rule” of doing unto others as you would have them do unto you is a fitting application.

There is neither Jew nor Gentile, neither slave nor free, nor is there male and female, for you are all one in Christ Jesus.Galatians 3:28

So if the Son sets you free, you will be free indeed. John 8:36

An excerpt from the inspirational Non-fiction book: From The Pit to The Palace, A Story of Redemption:

“I have one vague memory of my two sisters, myself and my mom hiding in a bushy area in the dark as we escaped from our father. When I was older, I learnt that my mom often fled with us to her aunt who lived in a neighbouring “coloured” suburb to seek refuge from her abuser. She could not go to her mother with the three of us,  because my grandmother lived in a “Whites Only” suburb and my skin tone was very dark so I would not be welcomed there. My mother and two sisters were fair skinned but this did not bother me until I was a little older. And for a large part of my life I felt like an outsider.”

May this inspiring true story help you on your journey to wholeness and purpose.
